The historical facet of the Cabinet

Cabinet FOURNIER is located in a mansion characteristic of the historic city center of Dijon. It was inhabited at the end of the 16th century by Jacques GODRAN, adviser to the Parliament of Dijon.

Le porche et l'entrée avec le jardin au fondThe MALETESTE Hotel owes its name to the eponymous family, which at the beginning of the 17th century was embodied by Claude MALETESTE. An advisor to Parliament, he was behind the construction of buildings on the street and back. These first house a Regency library, which was built by MORIZOT, lawyer tenant of the family.

This room, which serves as a reception area for Cabinet FOURNIER, has been listed as a historical monument since 1924. The richness of this room is also due to the treasures it houses, such as legal works from the 18th century, texts in force under the Old diet.

The Hotel MALETESTE and its raised garden of French topiary yews can be visited during Heritage Days.

"... Its terraced garden invites you to come in and stay as it awakens the impression of a garden of love where knights and ladies of the Decameron would chat" ... The BLUE Burgundy GUIDE / 2006 edition.
